Returns & Exchange Policy

At Akheri, we celebrate the beauty of "Slow Fashion." Every piece is handcrafted by artisans in Lucknow over several days. Because of the delicate nature of hand-embroidery, we have a specific policy to ensure the craft is respected.

1. The Nature of Hand-Embroidered Art

Please note that slight variations in motifs and tiny thread-ends are not "defects"—they are the authentic marks of human craft. These variations distinguish an Akheri heirloom from a machine-made copy.

2. Exchanges (Size & Style)

We want you to have the perfect fit!

  • Exchange Cost: A shipping charge of  ₹150 is applicable to facilitate reverse logistics.
  • Timeline: Exchange requests must be made within 7 days of delivery.

  • Condition: The garment must be unworn, unwashed, and have all original tags, labels and packaging intact.

  • Size Assistance: To avoid multiple exchanges, we recommend sharing your measurements with our team over WhatsApp before we ship the replacement.
    Measurement Tip: Our sizes are based on 'Garment Measurements.' We recommend choosing a size 2 inches larger than your body measurement for that comfortable, elegant fall.

3. Returns & Refunds

If you wish to return a product for any other reason:

  • Return Cost: A shipping charge of ₹150 is non-refundable for all return orders.
  • Store Credit: We offer returns in the form of Akheri Store Credit valid for 1 year. This is our preferred method to support our artisans.

  • Bank Refunds: If you prefer a refund to your original payment method, an additional processing fee of ₹50 will be deducted. It usually takes 3-5 business days for the refund to reflect in your account after it is processed.

  • COD Orders: Refunds for COD orders are strictly provided via Store Credit only.

  • Refund Timelines: All refunds/ store credits will be issued only after the return has been received at our warehouse, checked and passed by our quality team.

4. Non-Returnable Items

  • Custom-tailored or altered pieces.

  • Items purchased during a "Clearance" or "End of Season" Sale.

  • Used or washed garments.

5. How to Initiate a Request

To start a return or exchange, please WhatsApp us at +91 84708 75891 with:

  1. Your Order Number.

  2. A clear photo of the garment.

  3. The reason for the exchange/return.

6. The "Unboxing" Video

  1. For your security and ours, please film a quick unboxing video. It helps us solve transit damage issues instantly!
